2008 LARC Scholarship

The Library Association of Rockland County (LARC) is an organization open to anyone interested in public libraries. Members include trustees, librarians, library support staff and retired professionals, among others.

The LARC Scholarship Award will be given to a candidate who has demonstrated an interest in pursuing a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science and who meets the criteria for entrance into an graduate library program accredited by the American Library Association or is already enrolled in such a program.

The winner will be given a one-year membership in LARC and a monetary stipend reimbursement up to $1000.00. More than one award may be made.

The recipient of a LARC Scholarship must attend the annual meeting designated for the presentation (the LARC Annual Meeting is scheduled in June 2008).

Guidelines

The candidate must:

  • Be a United States citizen
  • Already possess a BA or BS degree
  • Be enrolled in or accepted to a graduate library program accredited by the American Library Association
  • Live or work in Rockland County
  • Submit a completed three-part application: Parts I, IIA and III
